Methi Poori / Puri (using Kasuri Methi leaves / Dried Fenugreek Leaves)

Methi poori is a flavorful, crispy deep fried Indian bread, prepared using wheat flour and methi leaves along with spices.  In this recipe I have used dried fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi; but you can also try this recipe using fresh fenugreek leaves too.

Now lets check the recipe for Methi poori!

Ingredients:

Wheat flour - 2 cups + extra for dusting
Dried fenugreek leaves - 3 to 4 tbsp
Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - for deep frying

Directions:

Take a wide bowl; add wheat flour, dried fenugreek leaves, turmeric power, red chilli powder and salt.  Mix well.

Next add 2 or 3 tsp oil and water little by little; knead well to form a tight dough.

Divide the dough into lemon sized balls and flattened them using rolling pin; make into round shape as we do for normal poori.

Repeat with the remaining dough.

Heat the oil in a kadai and fry each poori on both sides till golden and crisp.

Serve hot with Channa masala, Potato masala or with any gravy.

Note:

Adjust spice level according your taste.

You can also add cumin powder along with the other spice powders to add more flavour to the poori!
