Chocolate Burfi - Using Milk Powder

Chocolate burfi is a delicious and also easy to make sweet treat to share with your loved ones for this diwali especially for kids!

This burfi is perfect to gift your friends and relative; you can store this up-to 4 to 5 days.

Yield: 8 to 10 pieces

Ingredients:

Milk Powder - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp
Cocoa powder - 1 tbsp
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Mixed nuts (chopped) - 3 to 4 tbsp
Ghee ( clarified butter) - 2 tsp + for greasing

Direction:

Grease a plate with ghee and keep aside.

Add milk powder and cocoa powder in a plate; mix well. Keep aside.

Take a pan; add sugar and water ( just to immerse) and allow to boil till it reaches one string consistency ( check notes).

Immediately reduce the flame and add milk powder mixture, ghee and followed by that add nuts and vanilla essence (if using).

Give it a quick mix (It will immediately form a thick mass).

Transfer the mixture into a greased plate and garnish with chopped nuts.

Allow them to cool 7 to 10 minutes and then cut into desired shapes.

Enjoy this yummy chocolate burfi with your dear ones!

Note:

Single string consistency is when you touch the syrup;  a single thread is formed (and does not break) when your forefinger and your thumb are pulled apart gently. Do it carefully as sugar syrup will be very hot.

Adding vanilla essence is optional.

Instead of ghee; you can also use butter.
