Easy Red Aval Ladoo (Poha / Rice Flakes Ladoo) / Krishna Jayanthi / Janmashtami Recipes

Here is a tasty, easy to make and healthy snack Red Aval Ladoo that is suitable for all such special occasions; and particularly for the Krishna Jayanthi / Janmashtami (17th)

Yield : 8 to 10 ladoos

Ingredients:

Red aval - 1 cup
Sugar - ½ cup
Ghee (Clarified Butter) - ¼ cup
Milk - 1 or 2 tbsp ( if necessary)
Cashews - 10 (broken)
Raisins - 8
Cardamom powder - ¼ tsp

Direction:

Take a pan and dry roast aval till it becomes hot and give out an aroma.  Allow to cool.

Once it cools; add sugar and aval on the mixer; grind it into fine powder.

Transfer that into a separate bowl.  Add cardamom powder.

In the same pan add ghee; fry the cashews and raisins till it turns golden brown.

Add this to powdered rice flakes mixture and mix well.  When it is become warm; start making ladoos out of it.

Yummy ladoos are ready to eat.

Note:

You can also try this recipe using white aval.

You can also add little milk while making ladoo, but it will reduce the shelf life of ladoo.

If you are using whole cardamom grind it along with sugar.
