Ragi roti / Rotti is a very popular, nutritious and easy to prepare breakfast recipe. You can prepare this instantly without any prior planning and onions in that rotti will give a nice crunch!

Ragi / finger millet is gluten free and also one of the most nutritious grain which we can include in many South Indian foods.
It is rich in calcium, protein; also have good amount of iron and other minerals. Ragi is suitable for diabetic patients as they contain more fiber than rice and wheat and also it has better glycemic index.

Ingredients:
Ragi flour - 1 cup
Onions - 1(finely chopped)
Green chillies - 1( chopped)
Curry leaves - 1 sprig(chopped)
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp(optional)
Grated carrot - ¼ cup
Salt - to taste
Oil - as required
( If the dough is sticking to the hand, wet the hand and then press)

Directions:
Take a wide bowl and add all the ingredients except oil and water.
Give it a mix; slowly add water to make a soft dough. Close with the lid and keep aside.
Divide the dough into medium sized balls.
Apply some oil over the leaf or sheet which you are using for spreading.
Take a ball from that and place it over the banana leaf or polythene sheet; press with your finger to flatten as thin as possible.
Heat the tawa or dosa pan; carefully transfer the roti and drizzle some oil over the roti.
Close with the lid and allow it to cook; flip it and cook on other side. (in medium flame).
Repeat the same with the remaining dough.
