This is a simple and also a delicious semi dry chicken preparation flavored with mint; which I learned from my mom. Every body in my family loved this. Try this out and enjoy!
Serves - 3 to 4 persons
Ingredients:
Chicken - ½ kg
Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Tomato - 1(finely chopped)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Red chilli powder - ¾ - 1 tsp
Pepper powder - ½ - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
To Grind:
Mint leaves - 1 handful
Green chilies - 2
For Seasoning:
Cinnamon - 1" pieceCloves - 3
Bay leaf - 1
Directions:
After it crackles, add the finely chopped onions. Saute till the colour changes after that add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.
Fry till the tomato melts. Add little water, if it sticks to the pan.
Now add the grounded mint paste and allow to cook till the chicken becomes soft and the mixture becomes thick in consistency.
At last add pepper powder ; mix well and switch off the gas..
Note:
We are adding red chilli powder, pepper powder and also green chillies for spicy; so adjust according to your taste.
For variation you can grind one handful of coriander leaves along with mint.
Adjust the water quantity according to the consistency you prefer.
