Raw Onion Garlic Chutney / Poondu Vengaya chutney

This spicy chutney is easy to make and best for Idli, Dosa and Kuzhipniyaram. We can store this chutney upto 1 or 2 days in the refrigerator.

Ingredients:

Small onions/ Shallots - 15 no.
Garlic - 10 cloves
Redchillies - 5 to 6
Tamarind - a small piece
Salt - to taste
Gingelly oil - 1 to 2 tbsp
Water - as required

Directions:

Add all the ingredients except gingelly oil in the blender / mixer with little water and grind it into a smooth paste.

Adjust consistency as required by adding water. Transfer to a suitable container.

Drizzle with gingelly oil and serve.

Note:

Adding gingelly oil will enhances the taste and helps to reduce the spice level of the chutney.

Adjust the amount of chillies according to your taste.
