Cheesy Penne Pasta

This is a cheesy and tasty dish, favourite not just for kids but adults as well!

Ingredients

For the white sauce:
Milk - 1 ½ cup
Butter - 1 tablespoon
All purpose flour –1 tablespoon
Processed Cheese – ¼ to ½ cup (keep little for garnishing)
Pepper powder - ¼ tsp
Chili flakes – To taste (optional)
Oregano or mixed herbs – 2 tsp
Salt - to taste

To cook pasta:
Pasta any variety – 1¼ cup
(Here I have used penne pasta)
Oil – to drizzle
Salt - 2 tsp
Water – 4  to 6 cups water

Other ingredients:
Olive oil - 2 tsp
Garlic – 3 to 4 cloves
Tomato sauce – 2 tsp
Mixed vegetables – 1 cup (broccoli, carrot and mushroom)

Directions

To cook pasta:

Add water, salt and oil in a  shallow pan and allow to boil. Once it starts boiling, add the pasta to it and cook till it becomes soft.  Once it is done; drain and keep aside.

To prepare white sauce:

Heat butter in a pan, once it is starts melting add all purpose flour and sauté for a second.  Then add milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps (you can use egg beater).
Once the sauce thickens add pepper, mixed herbs, salt, and cheese. Give it a quick stir and keep aside.

To prepare the main dish:

Take a kadai or pan; add finely chopped garlic and stir for a second.  Now add  vegetables, salt and stir it.   Allow to cook by adding little water.

Once it is done, add chili flakes (optional), tomato sauce, cooked pasta and prepared white sauce.

Cook it for a minute and switch off the flame.  Then garnish with grated processed chesse and serve.
